Our Spiritual Director

Lam Rim’s Spiritual Director, the Venerable Geshe Damcho Yonten escaped the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959. Years later in India, as a fully qualified Lharampa Geshe, students requested that he come to the West to impart his knowledge of Buddhist Teachings and in 1978 the Lam Rim Buddhist Centre in Wales was founded and has flourished, now with various groups around the UK & SA. Venerable Geshe Damcho-la first visited South Africa in 1989 and has returned on a number of occasions at the request of his students.
Deputy Spiritual Director
